Gary H. Fouts, 70, passed away peacefully on Nov. 7, 2014, in Elk Grove, IL, after a yearlong battle with appendix cancer. Born May 22, 1944, in Buffalo, N.Y., he grew up with his sister, mother and father in Cheektowaga, N.Y.
Gary’s career as a salesman in the pet industry allowed him to live many different places throughout his career including Greenfield from 2000 to 2013. Gary officially retired from the pet industry in 2009 and during his retirement he worked for the Pacers in crowd management and at the Sears Hometown Store in Greenfield.
Gary is survived by his wife, of 18 years, Lori (Cheshier) Fouts; his two daughters, Sandra Harris of Peoria, IL, and Lindsay Atkins of Henderson, Nev.; a son, Gary R. Fouts of Chicago, IL; two step-sons, Justin Holcomb of Las Vegas, Nev., and Jacob Holcomb of Greenfield; and two grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11 a.m., Sat. Nov. 29th at Park Chapel Christian Church in Greenfield with David Woods officiating.
The family asks that donations be made in Gary’s honor to the American Cancer Society in lieu of flowers.
