Mrs. Icie June Erwin, 91, of Carmel, died Nov. 9, 2014, at home surrounded by family. Formerly a Shelby County resident of Fountaintown, Mrs. Erwin was born Oct. 14, 1923, in Rock Creek, WV, the daughter of Dewey and Gracie Cantley.
She is survived by her sister, Ethel (Dempsey) McKnight of Rock Creek, WV; sister-in-law, Edna Papciak, Tonawanda, New York; four children, Anita (Wayne) Adkins, Dewey (Karla) Erwin, Deborah (Carl) Lau, and Roger (Faire Elizabeth) Erwin; seven grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren.
She is predeceased by her husband, John Erwin; her sister, Mabel Clay and her brother, James Cantley.
Visitation will be held from 10 until 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2014, at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral service will be held immediately following visitation. Reverend Bob Hays will be officiating.
The family would like to encourage everyone to stay for a meal to follow the service. A private interment will follow the meal at Asbury Cemetery in Morristown, Ind.
