Frederick H. Stein, 81, of Greenfield, passed away Thursday, Oct. 30, 2014, at his residence. He was born on June 27, 1933, in Indianapolis as the son of Frederick H. and Charlotte K. (Klingensmith) Stein.

He served in the Navy as a radioman 3rd class on board the USS Mt. Katmai, during the Korean Conflict.

He married Sally S. (Fultz) on Aug. 13, 1960, in Kokomo.

He was the owner and operator of Greenfield Dental Ceramics for 30 years where he was highly respected by dentists for his quality of work. Mr. Stein was a Murat Shriner, 32nd Degree Mason with the Greenfield Masonic Lodge #101, a member of the Fortville VFW Post #6905 and Circle City Corvair Club of Indianapolis. He enjoyed riding his Honda scooter and driving his Corvair.

Fred is survived by his loving wife, Sally S. (Fultz) Stein of Greenfield; two sons, Christopher Neal (Sarah) Stein of Pendleton and Curtis Mitchell Stein of Greenfield; sister, Karen (Joe) Allen of Franklin; two grandchildren, Erin and Kurtis.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frederick H. and Charlotte K. (Klingensmith) Stein.

A Memorial Visitation will be held from 3 until 5 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 2, 2014, at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A Memorial Service will be held immediately following visitation. Chaplain Katherine Murray will be officiating.
