Sara (New) St. Angelo, 61, of Indianapolis, passed away Friday, Oct. 17, 2014, at Community Hospital North, Indianapolis. She was born Feb. 11, 1953, in Greenfield, to Jack L. and Corinne (Lyon) New.

Sara received her Bachelors of Science in Pharmacy and completed her undergraduate studies at The Ohio State University. She received her Doctorate of Pharmacy at Purdue University. Sara was a pharmacist at Hancock Regional Hospital, Indiana Heart Center, St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Hospital and Methodist Hospital. Active in many organizations, Sara served on the Indiana State Board of Pharmacy for 15 years serving two terms as President. She was a current member of the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy and the Hosta Society of Indianapolis. Sara was an avid fan of the Beatles, Ohio State football and the Indianapolis Colts.

During her career, Sara was honored with several awards including: Rho Chi Society, Mortar Board, The Rexall Mortar and Pestle Award, The Ohio State University Distinguished Alumni Award and the Glen J. Sperandio Health Systems Pharmacist of the Year, 2008.

She is survived by her husband, Brian Kwitny; mother, Corinne New; children, Andrew (Tammi) St. Angelo, Anna St. Angelo and Corinne St. Angelo; brothers, Tom New, John New; sister, Ann (Mark Lovejoy) New and granddaughter, Chloe St. Angelo.

She is preceded in death by her father, Jack New in 2008.

Friends may call from 4 – 8 p.m., Friday, Oct. 24, 2014, at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Pasco Chapel, 1780 West Main Street, Greenfield. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 25th at the funeral home with John Wantz officiating. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery, Greenfield.
