Mary Olive Clark, 79, of Greenfield, passed away Oct. 5, 2014. She was born in Jacksonburg, Ind., on Oct. 3, 1935, to William A Clark and Mary Elizabeth (Reed) Clark.

Mary attended elementary school at the two room schoolhouse in Jacksonburg and was fond of sharing memories of those days. She graduated from Manual High School in 1953 and was awarded a full tuition nurses' training scholarship by Alpha Omicron Alpha. She attended Methodist Hospital School of Nursing and earned her R.N. in 1956.

Mary worked as a dedicated and caring nurse her entire career.  She retired from Hancock Memorial Hospital after 31 years but later returned to work for a few years as an office nurse at Cumberland Convenient Care Clinic. After retirement Mary developed a keen interest in computers and geneology and enjoyed sharing her passion for both with her family and friends.

Mary is survived by her husband, Richard J. Clark; children, Jennifer (James) Nixon, Sonya Clark, Cynthia Drane, Jeffrey Clark, and Eric Clark; 11 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Sandra Waterman and Billie Sue Day; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

An informal gathering in her honor will be held on Saturday, Nov. 1, 2014, from 1-5 p.m. at the Holiday Inn Express in Greenfield. All family and friends are welcome to spend a few minutes or a few hours sharing their memories of Mary.
