Carl “Mike” Griffith, 64 of Wilkinson, passed away Saturday morning, Oct. 18, 2014, at his residence with his family by his side. He was born Oct. 9, 1950, in Hancock Co., the son of the late Charles and Louise (Milliner) Griffith.

Carl was a heavy equipment operator. He proudly served his country in the Army during the Vietnam War.  He received the National Defense Service medal, two overseas bars, Vietnam Service medal, Vietnam Campaign medal, Sharpshooter M14 rifle, expert M16 rifle. He was honorably discharged at The Rank of Sergeant, and Honorable Kentucky Colonel. He as an avid hunter and fisherman and loved the outdoors, Bluegrass band music, and lifetime member of the VFW and member of the National Rifle Association.

Survivors include his wife, Rebecca (Ward) Griffith; four sons, Kristian (Annmarie) Griffith of Greenwood, Jason(Crystal) Griffith of Anderson, Michael (Erin) Griffith of Warrington, George Griffith of Cicero; eleven grandchildren, Zach, Sam , Garrett, Colyn, Gavin, Kody, Kyle, Kaitlynn, Elizabeth, Charlie, James.

He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Tommy, Bill, Jim, Richard, Roger; sister, Sally.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-7 p.m. prior to the service. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2014, at Condo and Son Funeral Home in Wilkinson, with Chaplain Ron May officiating. Military service will be held at 7 p.m. by the Knightstown American Legion #152. Family and friends may gather at the Warrington Baptist Church following the service.
