Billie Jean (Hail) Hooker, 73, of New Palestine, died Sunday, Oct. 19, 2014, at her residence. She was born on Jan. 3, 1941, in Somerset, Ky., as the daughter of Bennie E. and Mary O. (Farmer) Hail.  She graduated from Pulaski County High School in Somerset, Ky. Billie married Harry W. Hooker in April 1976, in Indianapolis.

Billie is survived by her son, Gregory Allen (Donna J.) Hamm; daughter, Holly Lynn (Matthew A.) Shaw; brother, Howard Denton Hail and Marvin Hail; sisters, Marsha Little and Katherine Edwards; two grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Aletha Miller, Jessie Gertrude Jacobs and Lucille Burdine; brother, Edwin Hail; husband, Lawrence “Sonny” Hamm; and husband, Harry W. Hooker.

Visitation will be held from 11 until 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2014, at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral service will take place immediately following the visitation. Burial will follow at New Palestine Cemetery in New Palestine, Ind.
