Richard S. Steele, 89, of McCordsville passed away Friday, Sept. 19, 2014, at his home. He was born Sept. 7, 1925 in Hancock County to the late Paul and Bessie (Stoner) Steele. After high school, Richard married Lois (Tyler) Steele on Oct. 1, 1948.
Together they farmed in the Hancock County area for many years prior to retirement. He was a member of the Oaklandon F&AM Masonic Lodge and of Amity UMC.
Richard is survived by his wife, Lois, of McCordsville; son, Philip (Elaine) Steele of McCordsville; daughters, Rosalie Steele of Greenfield, Edith (Glenn) Van Arsdall of Indianapolis; 4 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Cyrus Steele.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday Sept. 23rd at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Pasco Chapel, 1780 West Main Street, Greenfield. Funeral Service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 24th, at the funeral home with burial to follow at Park Cemetery, Greenfield.
