Sandra “Sandy” Elaine (McElroy) Reel, 71, of New Palestine, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, Sept. 14, 2014, at Hancock Regional Hospice. She was born on June 6, 1943, in Bean Blossom, Ind., as the daughter of Thomas and Mary (Leggins) McElroy. She married Jack Reel on May 29, 1964.
She attended Park Chapel Christian Church. Sandy loved to read the Bible, sew, and read novels.
Sandy is survived by her three sons, Joe (Amy) Reel of New Palestine, Jack Reel II of New Palestine and James Reel of Indianapolis; two daughters, Casandra (Alex) Pei of New York and Shannon Reel of Indianapolis; sister, Betty; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Reel; parents, Thomas and Mary (Leggins) McElroy; and brother, Tommy McElroy.
A memorial visitation will be held from 5 until 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2014, at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A memorial service will be held immediately following visitation. Pastor David Woods will be officiating.
