Harry E. Worland, 96, of Greenfield, passed away Monday, Sept. 8, 2014, in Greenfield. He was born on Feb. 14, 1918, in Greenfield as the son of Walter F. and Florence E. (Jackson) Worland. Harry served in the Army during World War II serving in Japan. He married Sarah K. (Walker) on Jan. 25, 1947, in Greenfield.

He worked as a body shop repairman for many years with various dealerships here in Greenfield. Mr. Worland was a member of Greenfield American Legion, VFW, and Hancock Masonic Lodge, York Rite, Knights Templar and Grand Commandery Drill Team.

Harry is survived by his loving wife, Sarah K. (Walker) Worland of Greenfield; son, Robert E. Worland of Nashville, Ind.; daughters, Carol A. (Mitch) Pendlum of Greenfield and Judy (Mike) Shumacker-Raney of Hendersonville, N.C.; brother, Walter P. Worland of Greenfield; sister, Patricia Worland of Franklin, Ind.; many nieces and nephews; eight grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter F. and Florence E. (Jackson) Worland; brothers, Kenneth Jackson and Francis Worland; and sister, Phyllis Schacklock.

Visitation will be held from 4 until 8 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 11, 2014,  at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 12, 2014, also at the mortuary. Burial will follow at McCray Cemetery in Wilkinson with full military rites presented by the Greenfield Veterans Honor Guard.
