Carroll Eugene Mohr, 93, of Indianapolis, formerly of Greenfield and Shelby County, passed away Monday, Aug. 25, 2014, at his home. Carroll was born on Oct. 12, 1920, to the late Claud and Bona (Carvin) Mohr. He married Margaret Smith on Aug. 22, 1942.

He served in the Navy during WWII. He served two terms as the Shelby County Treasurer from 1947-1950. He was an officer of the Indiana State Police, serving as the Pendleton Post Commander, before retiring in 1971; also serving as a member of the Pioneers of the Indiana State Police. He went on to work for Hook Drug Company in Indianapolis as Security from 1973-1989.

Carroll was a member of the Mt. Auburn Christian Church in Shelby County, a member of the Farmers’ Masonic Lodge #147 F&AM in Norristown Ind., and the Scottish Rite and Murat Shrine in Indianapolis. He belonged to the American Legion, the Elks Lodge, and Brandywine Yacht Club of Greenfield.

Carroll is survived by his children, Becky Mohr (Gene Hunt) of Indianapolis and Daniel (Carol) Mohr of Wilmington, Ohio; grandchildren, Brian, Aaron, Bradley, and Jessica Mohr; great-grandchildren, Asher and Lael Mohr.

Carroll is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Margaret; and brothers, Maurice and Teddy Mohr.

Friends may visit Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Pasco Chapel 1780 W Main St, Greenfield, IN 46140 from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 28, 2014. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 29, 2014. Burial will follow in Mt. Auburn Cemetery in Shelby County.
