Betty Eileen (Wicker) Everhart, 83, of Morristown, passed away Monday, Aug. 18, 2014. She was born April 15, 1931, in Indianapolis, the daughter of Stace Vernon and Fannie Bertha (Bush) Wicker.

Betty moved to Shelby County in 1941 and graduated from Morristown High School in 1949. On Feb. 24, 1951, she married her husband of 57 years, Robert Lee Everhart, and he preceded her in death on July 25, 2008.

She was a member of Liberty United Methodist Church, Morristown Order of Eastern Star No. 316 and the Women's Auxiliary of American Legion Post No. 102.

Betty retired from Randell Textron in 1997. She was a homemaker, a cub scout leader for three years and a 4-H leader for six years. Her greatest joy was spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include her daughters, Ann Crump and husband, Robert Lee, of Franklin and Gail Hoffman-Everhart and friend, Jeff Butts of Greenfield; son, David Everhart of Morristown; 14 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and one on the way; and several nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Mildred White and Signett Pickard and a granddaughter, Amber Hoffman.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 21, 2014, at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Frazier Chapel, 124 E. North St. in Morristown and from 9 to 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 22, 2014, at Morristown United Methodist Church, 221 S. Washington St. in Morristown. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the church, with Pastor Gwen Pew and Gail Hoffman-Everhart officiating. Interment will be at Asbury Cemetery in Morristown.
