Laura Willis (Wells) Reed, 95, ended her journey through this life on Wednesday, July 16, 2014, surrounded by her loved ones at her home in Raysville. She was born on May 22, 1919, in Pulaski County, Ky., the daughter of Cyrus (Jimmy) Loveall and Sarah (Phelps) Loveall.

She lived in Carthage, Ind. from 1935-1965, working as the custodian of the State Bank of Carthage and the Henley Library for 17 years and also worked at the Box Shop for several years. She moved to Raysville, in 1965, living there for the remainder of her journey in this life. She worked for Jackwil Casket Company in Knightstown for well over 40 years having designed and developed the Jackwil Paper Casket Inserts and hand built every Jackwil Fabric Former that was ever sold. Laura shared life and love with as many people as she could gather around her with holiday visitors having come in shifts in order to fit into her home. Many of the visitors to her home not only called her Mom or Grandma, but considered her to be filling that role. She had attended the “Truth Apostolic Church” of Billy Lambert, often filling the church with her children and grandchildren on special holidays.

Laura left many loved ones behind her: including children, Connie (Charles) Tucker of Indianapolis, Dan (Jan) Wells of Knightstown, Becky Brodnan of Raysville, Jerry (Marlene) Wells of Knightstown, Dean Wells of Raysville, step-son Mike (Nancy) Reed of Plainfield; 20 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, several great-great grandchildren, a special friend Darryl Arrowood of New Castle, and untold numbers of nieces and nephews and a lifetime of other friends.

In addition to her parents, those waiting on her in the next life include her children, Geneva, Dick, Jim, Nina and Candy; her sisters, Ollie Mae Thompson, Lois Jackson, Dorothy Snedigar and Gertie Trent; her brothers, James Loveall and Paul Loveall. She was also preceded in death by husbands, Clyde Wells and Raymond Reed.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 18, 2014, at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service Knightstown Chapel with Brother Billy Lambert officiating. Burial will follow in Glen Cove Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Henry County Hospice, 798 N. 16th St. New Castle, IN 47362.
