Rowen Ruckel, 92, of Melbourne, Florida, passed away Tuesday, July 8, 2014, in Melbourne, Florida. He was born in Pulaski County, Kentucky to Harry and Lucretia Baugh Ruckel.

Rowen served in five European campaigns of World War II and the recipient of five Bronze Stars.

During the many years he lived in Kennard, Indiana, he was a member of the Wilkinson Church of Christ. Rowen’s quiet nature, deep religious faith, work ethic and love of family were a strong influence and inspiration to his family. He will be deeply missed.

Rowen is survived by Norma, his wife of 68 years; children, David, Barbara (Jeff) Frame, Nancy Fleming, and Sherry (Dave) Patton; grandsons, Eric (Suzi) Fleming, Tim (Kim Wilson) Fleming, Jacob (Stephanie) Patton and Kyle Patton; and great grandchildren, Hannah Fleming; Elaina, Tyler and Evan Fleming.

Visitation will take place from 11 a.m. – Noon on Sunday, July 13, 2014, at Macer-Hall Funeral Home & Cremation Services. Funeral service will be held 1:30 p.m. on Sunday at the Green Hills Memory Gardens Chapel in New Castle, with Reverend Russ Lutz officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hills Memory Garden.
