Anne Troy Davis, 85, passed away on Tuesday, June 24, 2014, at Manatee Memorial Hospital in Bradenton, Florida after a brief illness. Annabelle was born on Oct. 18, 1928, to Samuel and Mabel (Kemerly) Troy in Wilkinson.  Anne and Darrel Davis (former Greenfield Chief of Police) were married in 1975. Upon his retirement, they relocated to Ruskin, Fla.

She spent her youth on the farm and assisted with the daily chores of farm life including driving a tractor. Better known to many as Anne or Annie, she graduated from Wilkinson High School in 1946. She graduated from the St. Vincent School of Nursing in 1950 with a bachelor’s degree in nursing as a Registered Nurse.

Anne worked for R.D.Williams, M.D. at his private practice in Markleville, Ind., as his nurse until lured away by Hancock Regional Hospital to become the head nurse for the Emergency Department.  She remained in this capacity until she returned to the private practice of Dr. Bronie Vingis in Greenfield.

She returned to Hancock Regional and retired from there as Supervisor of Ancillary Services (Physical Rehabilitation)  in June of 1991. Anne loved healing and patient care and was known by many to be an “excellent nurse.”

She is survived by her husband, Darrel Davis; daughter, Cyndi (Steve) Kiser Snider; sons, Mick (Anna) Kiser, Gary Kiser, and Jeffrey (Pamela) Davis; grandchildren, Misti Cox, Drew,Nick, Josh, Maddie and Samantha Kiser and Lily and Jack Davis and three great- grandchildren and one great- great- grandchild.

Anne was preceded in death by her parents; Sam and Mabel; son, Steven Bruce Kiser and brothers Murray Jean Troy and Robert K. “Skeeter” Troy.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. to Noon on Tuesday, July 8, 2014, at Condo and Son Funeral Home in Wilkinson. Memorial service will be held at the funeral home at Noon with Ryan McCarty officiating. Burial will follow at McCray Cemetery in Wilkinson.
