Alfred S. Senior Master Sergeant “Jake” Lasley

Alfred S. Senior Master Sergeant “Jake” Lasley, 85, passed away June 18, 2014. He was born to the late William and Bessie Lasley on Jan. 11, 1929, in Lebanon, Virginia. He married the love of his life, Mary Jo Lasley on March 21, 1952. He proudly served in the Air Force for 20 years and then began working for RCA which is where he retired from after 20 years of hard work and dedication. Following his retirement he loved to travel. He visited Arizona, Florida, Virginia, Wickenburg and Bullhead City. Not to mention he was an avid golfer. He truly enjoyed being a member of the Cumberland Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite, Murat Shrines, the president of the Liars Club at the Ransburg YMCA, a long time member of the Old Bethel Church and a lifelong member of the VFW.

Alfred is survived by his wife, of 62 years, Mary Jo Lasley of Indianapolis; his daughter, Cathryn Lasley of Indianapolis; his son, Alfred Smith (Heidi) Lasley Jr. of Meadville Pennsylvania; two grandchildren Jessica and Jacob Lasley; his brothers, Howard (Stella) Lasley, Donald (Billie) Lasley both of Lebanon Virginia and his cat, Spooky.

He was preceded in death by his sisters, Ruth Manion, Shelby Hughs and his brothers, Whitt, Paul, Raymond and Sammy Lasley.

Visitation will be held from 2- 7 p.m. on Tuesday, June 24, 2014, at Hendryx Mortuary Cumberland Chapel with a funeral service to immediately follow.
