June “Button” (Lowe) Mueller, 70, of Fortville, passed away Friday, June 13, 2014, at her home. She was born Dec. 18, 1943, in Mt. Gay, West Virginia, to Frank and Sarah Ann (Dower) Lowe.

June received her Bachelor's degree from Concord University and Master's degree from Ball State University. She worked for Mt. Vernon Community School Corporation, retiring from teaching in 2009 and from coaching swimming and diving in 2012. The pinnacle of her career was being named Coach of the Year and watching her sons participate in state finals. June loved baseball and had visited all but six stadiums, even meeting her husband at the stadium in Baltimore! She was known for her faith and stability as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, teacher and coach and will be missed by those whose lives she touched.

June is survived by her husband, Richard Mueller, whom she married on Nov. 11, 1968; sons, Matt (Rebecca) Mueller of Greenfield and Drew (Wendy) Mueller of Fishers; grandchildren, Katie, Ben, Michael and Abby Mueller and brother, Benjamin F. (June) Lowe of Lexington, Kentucky.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Geneva Susan Shaw and brother, Chester Dale Lowe.

Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. at Seals Funeral Home, Fortville on Tuesday, June 17, 2014. A celebration of June’s life will take place at 10 a.m. at the funeral home on Wednesday, June 18, 2014. Burial will immediately follow at Gravel Lawn Cemetery, Fortville.
