Andy C. Perguson, 88, of Greenfield, passed away Friday, May 30, 2014, at home. He was born on July 18, 1925, in Hardinsburg, Ky., as the son of John and Agnes (Woods) Perguson.

He served in the Army during World War II, and received two bronze stars.  He married Marie (Brooks) on April 14, 1945, in Greenfield.

Andy was the co-owner of Perguson Trucking Company for 62 years. He was a member of Greenfield Lions Club, where he served as a past President and Tail Twister. He also was a volunteer for Fountaintown Fire Department and the Civil Defense.

He is survived by his wife, Marie Perguson of Greenfield; daughter, Marcia Marie (Raymond) Clegg of Fairland; brother, Johnny Perguson of Elizabethtown, Ky.; daughter-in-law, Debrah Perguson of Sebastian, Fla.; two grandchildren, Julie (Andrew) Ashman of Indianapolis and Jennifer Perguson of Salem, Mass. and four great- grandchildren, Brian and Trevor Ashman, Marissa and Jesse McCarthy.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Agnes Perguson; son, Charles “Chuck” Perguson; grandson, Michael Perguson; and brothers, Mitt, Bob and Paul Perguson.

Visitation will be from 3 – 7 p.m. on Wednesday, June 4, 2014, at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. There will be a Lions Club service immediately following the visitation. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 5, 2014, also at the mortuary. Chaplain Mark Watkins will be officiating. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery in Greenfield with full military rites presented by the Greenfield Veterans Honor Guard.
