Cheryl Kay (McPeak) Thomas, 61, of Greenfield, passed away Wednesday, May 28, 2014, at Hancock Regional Hospital. She was born on July 25, 1952, as the daughter of Wayne and Ruby Eck.
She graduated from Morristown High School. She married Charles Eugene Thomas on November 22, 1972, in Greenfield. She worked for Bradley United Methodist Preschool as a preschool teacher for many years. Cheryl enjoyed quilting, teaching and reading.
Cheryl is survived by her husband, Charles Eugene Thomas of Greenfield; son, Charles Daron (Brittany) Thomas of Greenfield; daughters, Catherine Linnett (Brent) Inman of Greenfield and Lisa Ann (Bob) Dunkel of Sears, Mich.; father, Wayne Eck of Greenfield; sisters, Sherry Folker of Alexandria, Ind., Sondra Faulkenberg of Summitville, Ind. and Tammy Cox of Greencastle, Ind.; nine grandchildren, Joshua, Katie, Chloe, Clara, Clio, Issa, Dylan, Gabriel and Bailey and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Ruby Eck.
A Memorial Gathering will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2014. Please contact the family through the funeral home for further information. Arrangements are being handled by Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory in Greenfield.
