Jarrett K. “Jarre” Zeis, 75, went home to be with the Lord on May 14, 2014, at Rawlins House in Pendleton. Jarre was the son of George R. and Marietta (Jarrett) Zeis and was born on Aug. 26, 1938, in Indianapolis. He was a lifelong Fortville/Pendleton area resident. He graduated from Fortville High School and served in the Army Reserves.

He was a skilled electrician who owned and operated Total Services for many years and retired from RCA/Thompson Consumer Electronics in Indianapolis. He was also the co-owner of Fortville Sports for over ten years.  He was a member of the Fortville United Methodist Church and loved singing in its choir.  He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and target shooting.

Survivors include daughters, Joan (David Danielson) Adam, Carol (Tim) Comer, Jennifer (Bill) O’Dell; son, Jarrett K. “Jay” (Brenda) Zeis, Jr.; sister, Marianne (Larry) Cochran; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Carol Sue (Hutcheson) Zeis in 2001.

Visitation will be from 3 – 7 p.m. on Friday, May 16, 2014, at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 124 E. Staat Street, Fortville, IN 46040. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 17, 2014, at Fortville United Methodist Church, 125 E. Staat Street, Fortville, IN 46040. Pastor Karen Powell will be officiating. Burial will follow at Gravel Lawn Cemetery in Fortville.
