Maggie Estelle Moore went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on the 6th day of May, 2014.
Born Aug. 2, 1924, in Lawrence County, TN. to Grady S. and Mollie A. (Pirkle) Jester. She married Troy L. Rodgers in 1942, and after his death in 1956, Maggie was married to Troy J. Moore in 1958.
Retired from the Greenfield Head Start Program in 2010, where she worked as a foster grandparent. She was known as “Grandma Maggie”. Prior to Head start Maggie worked for the Greenfield Central Schools, Lincoln Park Cafeteria from 1974, until 1991.
She was a charter member and attended Calvary Baptist Church in Greenfield.
Survived by son, Howard (Donna) Rodgers; daughter-in-law, Diana Rodgers (widow of son Harold); daughter, Dorris (Don) Leonard; son, Dave (Pam) Rodgers; son, Jim (Cathy) Moore; son, Jack Moore; sister, Peggy Souders; 20 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; and 6 great-great- grandchildren.
Maggie is preceded in death by both parents; both husbands; step mother, Orilla Jester; son, Harold; brother, Theodore; brother, Doyle; sister, Jane Beatty; sister, Imogene Orr; and 2 great-grandsons, Connor and Jake.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m., Friday, May 9 at Calvary Baptist Church, 1450 West Main Street, Greenfield, IN. Services will be 11 a.m., Saturday, May 10th at the church with Pastor Roger Kinion officiating. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery, Greenfield.
