Larry Scott Messer 74, of Kingston, Tenn., passed away Monday, April 21, 2014, at his home.
Larry was a member of the Good Shepherd United Methodist Church, Kingston, TN. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Wanda Sue Messer; parents, Jack and Mary Tremnell Messer; grandson, Scott Thomas McCartt; stepbrother, Roger Beavers; twin sisters, Penny Kay and Gloria Fay Messer, and stepmother, Vivian McClintock Messer.
Larry is survived by his companion, Carolyn Jackson; children: Mark Messer and wife Sherri of Charlottesville, Ind., Joni McCartt and husband, Tom of Gainesville, Fla., Jack Messer and wife, Dawn of Haymarket, Va., and John Messer and wife, Jamie of Mascoutah, Ill.; grandchildren Kristin, Sarah, Ashton, Colton, Alyssa, Alex, Megan, Erika, and Jordan; great- granddaughter, Layla; sisters, Barbara Huffines of Ind. and Linda Chew of Texas; brothers, Jack William Messer of Ind.; several nieces and nephews.
Private family services will be held.
