Robert E. “Bob” Baker, age 90, passed away Tuesday, March 12, 2014, at Autumn Park Assisted Living Center in Indianapolis. Bob was born May 27, 1923, in Monticello, Ind., to the late Thomas Clark and Jennie Helen (Ward) Baker.

Bob served in the Army during WWII and was the recipient of two Bronze Stars. Shortly after his discharge from the Army in 1946, Bob met and married his beloved Betty Jo (Williams) Baker, who preceded him in death in 1991. Bob was an insurance payroll auditor with Meridian Insurance, retiring in 1993, a member of Nameless Creek Christian Church, Junior Chamber of Commerce and Jaycees in Madison, Ind., and a life-long Butler Basketball fan.

Bob is survived by daughters, Gayle Johnson of Calif., Paula Jeffers, Debbie Wright both of Indianapolis, Kim Hancken-Baker of Lebanon, eight grandchildren; nine great- grandchildren and companion, Jackie Trearcy.

Friends may call from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Saturday, March 15, 2014, from at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Pasco Chapel, 1780 West Main Street, Greenfield, Indiana 46140. Services will follow at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Larry Anderson officiating. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery.
