Raymond “Bus” Lloyd Plummer, 96, of Greenfield, passed away Sunday, March 2, 2014, at his residence. He was born on Feb. 9, 1918, in Shelby County, as the son of Merrill and Ethel (Shilling) Plummer. He graduated from Moral Township High School. Raymond was married to Elizabeth Dena Kleyn on May 18, 1942, right before being shipping overseas during WWII. Raymond served in the 47th Bomb Group of the Army Air Corp serving in African and European theater.

Besides being a farmer, Raymond was a wonderful husband and father. Ray worked at Western Electric for twenty one years. He was a member of Mt. Lebanon United Methodist Church for many years. During his retirement, he spent winters in Florida and was very active in the professional shuffleboard tournament circuit. Raymond also enjoyed playing golf with the Over the Hill Gang from Greenfield. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and the American Legion Post, Greenfield.

He is survived by four children, Linda (David) Pressley of Terre Haute, Deborah Romoser, of Indianapolis, Sandra (Roger) Hall and Philip (Jeanne) Plummer both of Greenfield. He had nine grandchildren; 15 great- grandchildren; and sister, Dona Smith of Shelbyville.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth, of 71 years; parents, Merrill and Ethel Plummer; sister, Lavern Abel of Cumberland and brother, Herbert Plummer of Greenfield.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until Noon on Saturday, March 8, 2014, at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A Masonic service will be held immediately following visitation at 11:45 a.m. A funeral service, officiated by Pastor Charles Wanner, will be conducted after the Masonic service and will begin at Noon. Burial will follow at Washington Park East in Indianapolis, IN.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Mt. Lebanon United Methodist Church, 3447 S. Ind. 9, Greenfield, IN 46140.
