Alfred Paul Schreiber, 87, of Sebring, Fla., formerly of Greenfield, passed away Sunday, Feb. 16, 2014, in Tampa, Fla. He was born on Aug. 2, 1926, in Alva, Okla., as the son of Adolph Paul and Sarah Elizabeth (Staley) Schreiber.

He served in the Army Air Corp. during WWII and later worked as a Savings and Loan Officer at Greenfield Savings and Loan, which has now become Ameriana. Alfred was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and had been a resident of central Florida for 20 years.

Alfred was a member of Hancock #101 Masonic Lodge, Greenfield Kiwanis, and Greenfield American Legion Post #119, and a past member of Greenfield Rotary.  He loved giving to others and enjoyed serving his community.

He is survived by his wife, Leona (Dickinson) Schreiber of Sebring, Fla.; son, Anthony Paul (Sharon) Schreiber, of Greenfield; grandchildren, Adam Paul Schreiber of Rosedale, Minn. and Angela (Andy) Russell of Evansville; and a great-granddaughter, Ella Darlene Russell; three nephews, Robert Schrieber and Charles Schrieber, both of Greenfield, and Alan Warren of Lancaster, Calif.; and one niece, Jeanette Wells of Lancaster, Calif.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Adolph Paul and Sarah Schreiber; and two sisters, Louise Schrieber and Frieda Warren.

Visitation will be from 4- 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 23, 2014, at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A Masonic service will be held immediately following visitation at 7:30 p.m. A funeral service, officiated by David Howell, will be conducted after the Masonic service and will begin at 7:45 p.m.
