Ruth W. Clfiton, 92, passed away Thursday, Feb. 13, 2014, at Springhurst Health Campus in Greenfield. She was born August 25, 1921, in Hancock County to the late Harry and Nancy (Smith) Wilfong.
Ruth graduated from Charlottesville high school. She was a loving wife, mother and homemaker. She was a member of the Psi Iota Xi sorority, and belonged to the First Church of Christ Science.
She is survived by her sons, Morris H. (Sara) Clifton of Greenfield, Norman D. (Tammy) Clifton II of Greenfield; daughter, Joy (Allen) Hackney of Melbourne, Fla.;grandchildren, Audra (Leary) Phelps of Greenfield, Candace (Clifton) Yoder of Greenfield, Tiffany (Clifton) Heiny of Greenfield, LeeAnn (Leary) Maxam of Fla., William Jason Hackney of Fla., Jennifer Hackney of Fla. and great-grandchildren, Jonathon, Alexa, Riley, Madison, and Carson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman D. Clifton, in 1982, her parents; brothers, Harold Wilfong, Roscoe Wilfong, Paul Wilfong, Floyd Wilfong, George Wilfong; sisters, Anna Mae Walker Holiday, Mary Lockridge, Martha Wilfong and grandchild, Jonna Leary Hacher.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 17, 2014, at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Pasco Chapel, 1780 W. Main St. Greenfield, IN 46140. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2014, at the funeral home with burial to follow at Park Cemetery.
