Hylas Douglas Groves, 83, died Thursday, Feb. 13, 2014, in Indianapolis. He was born on Feb. 26, 1930, in Portland, Tenn. Hylas was the son of the late Jessie Lee Groves and Bessie Lee Sercy Groves.
Hylas is survived by his loving wife, of 66 years, Marie (Monk) Andrews Groves; three children, Michael (Debra Kay) Groves, Sherry (Greg) Jacobson, Deborah (Curt) Baatz; two brothers, Wayne Groves, Indianapolis, Gary Groves, Avon; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson.
He was proceded in death by two brothers, Herbert Groves and Harold Groves both of Tenn.
Visitation will be at the mortuary from 4 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 16, 2014. Services will be at 1 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 17, 2014, at Bell Mortuary & Crematory, Shangrila Chapel with Pastor Danny McAdams and Pastor Ron Bowen Officiating.
