Doyne Lowder, 78, of McCordsville, passed away on Feb. 13, 2014, surrounded by his family. He was born May 2, 1935, in Mohawk, to the late Norman Brennan and Opal (Pearl) Lowder.

Doyne was a 1953 graduate of the old Mt. Comfort High School, a member of the Belgian Draft Horse Association and a lifelong Hancock County farmer.

He is survived by wife, Loueen (Rush) Lowder, whom he married on Jan. 16, 1954; children, Linda (David) Garrity of Greenfield, Jerry (Erin) Lowder of McCordsville and Shelley (Randy) Spencer of Greenfield; grandchildren, Andy (Kristine) Garrity, Ryan Garrity, Stacy (Billy) Muffler, Justin Lowder, Stephanie Spencer, Melissa Spencer and nine great-grandchildren, Cole, Makinze, Rylee, Bristol and Reece Garrity, Haley and Drew Lowder, Emma and Kegen Muffler.

Friends may call from 2-6 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 16, 2014, at Seals Funeral Home, Fortville. A Celebration of Doyne’s life will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 17, 2014, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Lowder-Arnett Cemetery in Greenfield.
