Michael Steven Bubeck, 54, formerly of Piqua, Ohio and more recently of Indianapolis, died suddenly on Jan. 20, 2014, at his residence. He was born in Piqua on Feb. 5, 1959, to the late Lowell E. and Lillian (Glass) Bubeck.

Michael was a 1977 graduate of Piqua High School and attended Ohio University.  He was an animal lover and a volunteer with the animal shelter in Indianapolis.  He was an avid sports lover and a volunteer and Past President with the Piqua youth baseball association.  He was employed as a custodian with Edison State College prior to moving to Indianapolis and then employed with the City of Greenfield Parks and Recreation.

Michael is survived by six brothers, James (Donna)Bubeck and Paul (Tammy) Bubeck both of Troy, Carl Bubeck of Piqua, Lowell Bubeck Jr. of Sidney, Kenny (Marsha)Bubeck of Ludlow Falls and Eddie (Bonnie) Bubeck of Bradford; sister-in-law, Connie Bubeck of Piqua; half-brothers, David Bubeck of Dayton and Larry (Gina) Bubeck of Russia; half-sister, Bonnie (David) Harmon of North Carolina; stepbrother, Lowell Pryor of Iowa; stepsisters, Kathy (Mike) Korner and Wilma (John) McClellan both of Iowa; plus numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

In addition to his parents, Michael was preceded in death by stepmother, Doris Pryor Bubeck; sister, Margaret (Peg) and brother-in-law, Dave Chaney; brother, Richard Bubeck; stepsister, Betty Pryor Gibson and stepbrother, James William Pryor.

The family received friends from 5 -8 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 27, 2014, at the funeral home. Services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2014, at the Baird Funeral Home in Troy, Ohio, with interment to follow in Forest Hill Cemetery in Piqua.
