Leon Bruce Patchett, 81, of Greenfield, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2014. He was born on Jan. 9, 1933, in Kokomo, the son of Charles Bruce and Nola (Connell) Patchett. Leon proudly served his country in the Army. He married Nancy (Wright) Patchett on Feb. 24, 1956, in Marion.
He worked as a Carpenter in the Union for 43 years before retiring in 1999. Leon was a member of the Local Union #60 and Golden Heirs Senior Group. In the past, he served as the Worshipful Master of the Cumberland Lodge. Mr. Patchett was a member of Amity United Methodist Church and also served as a past Trustee while there.
He is survived by his loving wife, of 57 years, Nancy; sons, Rex L. (Pam) Patchett of Greenfield, Tim (Denise) Patchett of Rockville; Bruce (Tammy) Patchett of Waterford, Mich.; grandchildren, Kyle Patchett, Abby (Jeremy) Dean, Jeremy Patchett, Jacob Patchett, Mary Patchett, Darienne Patchett, Tristan Patchett, Galen Patchett; great-granddaughter, Ginny Dean and many nieces and nephews.
Leon was preceded in death by his parents.
A Graveside Service was held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 17, 2014, at Marion National Cemetery in Marion, Ind.
