Frances Louise Basey, 94, of New Palestine, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 12, 2014. She was born on March 26, 1919, in Shelby County, the daughter of Harry and Pearl (Drake) Rafferty. She married Kenneth W. Basey on July 2, 1939 in New Palestine.
She is survived by her son, David (Jo) Basey of Bloomington; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; four great-stepgranddaughters; and two great- great-stepgrandchildren.
Frances was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kenneth; daughter, Sue Crawford; brother, Donald Rafferty; sister, Reba Collins; and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from Noon to 3 p.m on Monday, Jan. 20, 2014, at New Palestine Christian Church. A funeral service will also be held at 3 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 20, 2014, following visitation, also at the church. Reverend Travis Hacker will be officiating. Burial will follow at New Palestine Cemetery in New Palestine.
