Marshall Ray Tweedy, 80, of Greenfield, died Monday, Dec. 23, 2013. He was born on Dec. 6, 1933, in Cumberland County, Ky., the son of Willie Lee and Beulah Gladys (Anderson) Tweedy. Mr. Tweedy proudly served in the Air Force during the Korean War and Vietnam War from 1953 until 1956, and the National Guard from 1956-1961. Marshall married Judith “Judy” Suzanne (Lasnicka) Tweedy on Dec. 11, 1960.

He is survived by his loving wife, of 53 years, Judy Tweedy; daughters, Kim (Ralph) Payne of Shirley, Tami McPherson of Wilkinson, Mischelle Rae (Everett) Jones of Greenfield, Beth Tweedy of Greenfield, and Erin (Brian) Bland of Charlottesville; sister, Annie Ruth Norris of Burkesville, Kentucky; 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Marshall was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Bethany Anastasia; two infant daughters; siblings, George Tweedy, Mary Kate Spears, William Marvin Tweedy, James Herald Tweedy, Gladys Daugherty, and Sam Tweedy.

Visitation will be from 3- 7 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 11, 2014, at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory in Greenfield. A funeral service will immediately follow visitation and begin at 7 p.m. also at the mortuary.  Pastor Wade Compton will be officiating.
