Nancy G. Tinnel, 84, of Fortville, passed away Monday, Jan. 6, 2014, at IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born Nov. 19, 1929, in Tompkinsville, Ky., to the late Vester and Ray (Goad) Curtis.
She was a teller for Bank One for 17 years, retiring in 1995. She was salutatorian and treasure for the Tompkinsville, Ky., High School class of 1949 and a member of the Fortville United Methodist Church, enjoyed playing bridge, quilting and taking trips with her niece Nancy Ann Monday.
Nancy is survived by sons, Michael (Sally) Tinnel of Fortville; Brian (Lynette) Tinnel of North Bridge, Mass.; and Danny (Allison) Tinnel of Hardeeville, S.C.; grandchildren, Darren, Matthew, Caroline, Dana and Tyler Tinnel, Luke and Matthew Amrine, Matt Ellis and Libby Oestreich; 8 great-grandchildren, Madison, Alex, Riley and Ezri Tinnel, Keagan and Braylor Amrine, Grant Ellis and Kyle Oestreich; brother, Jessie (Georgia) Curtis of Greenfield; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by brothers, Clarence, Tommy “J.V.” and Clyde and sister, Annie Botts.
Friends may call on Friday, Jan. 10, 2014 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Seals Funeral Home, Fortville. A celebration of Nancy’s life will be held on Saturday, Jan. 11, 2014, at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Gravel Lawn Cemetery, Fortville.
