Patricia “Pat” S. (Neely) Mackey, 72, of Greenfield, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 29, 2013, at Kindred Transitional Care in Greenfield. She was born on May 10, 1941, in Richmond, the daughter of Wendell and Ellen (Dobbins) Neely.
Pat graduated from Lincoln High School in 1959. On July 14, 1959, she married Michael G. Mackey in Pershing.
She worked for Greenfield Chamber of Commerce as the Executive Secretary for four years before retiring in 1995. Pat was a former member of the United Methodist Church in Pershing. In her spare time, she loved reading, sewing, gardening and canning vegetables with her family.
She is survived by her loving husband, Mike Mackey of Greenfield; son, Shawn (Pam) Mackey of New Palestine; daughter, Merri-Ellen Daniel of Terre Haute; and grandchildren, Brock Daniel of Terre Haute and Mackenzie Jo Mackey of New Palestine.
Pat was preceded in death by her parents.
The family of Pat would like to give a special thanks to the Staff at Hancock Regional Hospital and the Staff at Kindred Health for their caring and compassionate care of their loved one.
A Celebration of Life memorial will be held from 1 until 4 p.m. at the Greenfield Elks Lodge, 820 S. State St., Greenfield, IN on Saturday, Jan. 11, 2014. Arrangements are being handled by Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory in Greenfield.
