Michael Ross "Mike" Goldsmith Sr., 75, of Anderson, passed away on  Dec. 18, 2013, at St. Vincent  Anderson Regional Hospital after a short illness. He was born on March 8, 1938, in Anderson, the son of Frank Goldsmith, and Donna (Goldsmith) Flatt.

He was adored by his wife, Carolyn (Hiday Brown) Goldsmith, and they enjoyed 28 years of marriage, living in Anderson and Tampa Bay, Fla.

Michael graduated from Anderson High School in 1956, and attended Ball State University. He retired  from restaurant ownership and management, and Conrail as a conductor. He was a past member of Anderson Lions Club, Anderson Kiwanis, Edgewood Country Club, and Madison Heights High School Band Boosters. He enjoyed boating, music, and spending time with his family, friends, and his bulldog, Holly. He attended Madison Park Church of God, and he previously attended First United Methodist Church in Anderson.

Michael is survived by his wife, Carolyn Goldsmith; sons, Michael (Debra) Goldsmith Jr., and Jeff (Cindy) Goldsmith; daughters, Kelly (Dan) Lucas;  Robyn Thomas, and Jill (Glen) Foor; stepdaughters, Kathy Lewis;  Cindy Hager, and  Christi (Jeffrey) Maidlow;  16 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and close friends, Ronald and Connie Wooldridge, and J.R. Builta.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Donna L. Flatt; father, Frank Goldsmith; and stepson, Thommy Brown.

  Visitation was held from 2 -6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 22, 2013, at Robert D. Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, 200 West 53rd St., Anderson, and from Noon to 1 p.m. prior to the funeral Monday at the church. Services was held at 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 23, 2013, at Madison Park Church of God, and Pastor Michael Schwartz officiated. Burial took place in  Anderson Memorial Park.

Memorial contributions may be made to Madison Park Church of God Pastoral Care or The Thommy Brown Memorial Fund at First United Methodist Church.
