Marilyn Jean (Dorrel) Skinner, 79, of Carthage, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, Dec. 16, 2013. She was born on Jan. 25, 1934, in Hancock County, the daughter of Lee and Marie Dorrel. Marilyn graduated from New Palestine High School. She first married Francis E. “Mick” Dailey and later married Robert Skinner.

She worked as a secretary for Paul Akers, Inc. and was also a co-owner of Dailey Oil, Inc. Mrs. Skinner was an avid bowler on Tuesday Night league.

She is survived by her son, Kim (Patti) Dailey of Indianapolis; grandson, Dr. Ian (Dr. Mary) Dailey of Maplewood, Minn.; stepson, Troy Skinner of Cape Coral, Fla.; stepdaughter, Renae (Ted) Wells of Shelbyville; sister, Shirley Hanggie of Woodland Hills, Calif.; longtime friends, Rex Linsley, Matt and Deanna Smith, Harrison and Hunter Smith, Dale, Diane, and Katie Linsley.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Francis E. “Mick” Dailey; second husband, Robert Skinner; son, Ron Dailey; sister, Belva Lee Sparks; and brother, Marvin “Bud” Dorrel.

Visitation will be from 4 – 8 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 20, 2013, at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory in Greenfield. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 21, 2013, also at the mortuary. Reverend Ray Price will be officiating. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery in Greenfield.
