William “Bill” G. Hensley, 70, of Greenfield, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 8, 2013, at Community North Hospital. He was born on Jan. 2, 1943, in Milan, Ind., the son of John C. and Della M. (Wall) Hensley.

He graduated from Milan High School in 1961. Bill was a very patriotic person and was proud to serve his country. Following high school, he joined the Air Force and served until 1965. He was an active member of the 13th F.I.S.  Bill married Susan W. (Warwick) Hensley on May 14, 1983, in Indianapolis. He worked for Chrysler from 1965 until 1996. Bill enjoyed the NRA and was an avid GTO enthusiast who loved restoring GTO’s.

He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Susan; daughters, Amy M. (Rob) Schwark of San Antonio, Abby L. Radovanovich of Greenfield; brother, John (Janet) Hensley of Rising Sun, Donald (Louise) Hensley of Fishers, Mitch (Laure) Hensley of Franklin; sisters, Glenda (Steve) Ashcraft of Aurora, Wanda Bennett of Indianapolis; sister-in-law, Freeda Hensley of Versailles; and grandchildren, Sydney, Emma and Hunter.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jay Hensley; sister, Gloria Murray; and four infant brothers and sisters.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2013, at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory in Greenfield. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 12, 2013, also at the mortuary. Pastor John Paulson will be officiating. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery in Greenfield.
