Fred Edward Rogers, 86, of Greenfield, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2013, at Hancock Regional Hospital. He was born on April 27, 1927, in Morristown, Tenn., the son of Thomas Virgil and Laura A. (Allen) Rogers. Fred married Patricia A. (Durman) Rogers in Morristown, Tenn., in 1951.

He worked as a sheet metal worker for Local 20 before retiring in 1989. Fred was a 60 year member of the Sheet Metal Workers International Association.

He is survived by his sons, Mike (Brenda Ayala) Rogers, Bill (Peggy Doyle) Rogers; daughters, Debbie (Bob) Mattsey, Sharon (Tom) Warner; brothers, Glen Rogers, Jimmy Rogers; sister, Fay Porter; grandchildren, Brooke (Jason) Knapp, Jon-Michael (Heather) Absher; Tommy (Brandi) Warner, Matt (Danielle) Warner, Bill (Jamie) Rogers, Brandon Rogers, Brady “BJ” Rogers; and 18 great-grandchildren.

Fred was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Patricia; brother, Jack Rogers; and sister, Alene Johnson.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 6, 2013,  at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory in Greenfield with visitation prior to funeral service, beginning at 10 a.m. Pastor Carl Coffee will be officiating.  Entombment will be at Washington Park East in Indianapolis.
