Zane E. Filson, 87, of Eden, passed away Nov. 22, 2013, at Kindred Health & Rehabilitation Center in Greenfield. He was born Aug. 19, 1926, in New Castle, to the late Fred and Esta (Snider) Filson.
Zane attended the former Eden High School, was a member of the Eden United Methodist Church and an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. He retired as a production manager from Freightliner Corporation in Indianapolis.
He is survived by his daughters, Dawn Marie Weaver of Indianapolis, LeAnn Joy (Bob) Wellens of Noblesville and Zaneen Gay Morano of Anderson; sons, Fred Franklin (Carol) Filson of Anderson and Samuel Sherman Filson of Orange Park, Fla.; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brother, Bruce A. (Cris) Filson of Greenfield; and sisters, Joyce Robb of Indianapolis, Dona Wainscott of Greenfield and Audrey (Paul) Woodward of, Cicero.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Sue (Daugherty) Filson, whom he married on Dec. 24, 1963; and brother, Jay Filson.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 29, 2013, at Seals Funeral Home, Fortville. A celebration of Zane’s life will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 30, 2013, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Mt. Summit Cemetery, Mt. Summit, Ind.
