James Robert “Bob” Hunt, 97, of Greenfield, passed away Nov. 24, 2013. He was born Dec. 29, 1915, in Xenia, Ohio, to the late Edwin Harold and Eva Ferguson Hunt.
Bob attended Xenia High School, and served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He married Ruth F. Simpers in 1954, and she preceded him in death in 1994. Bob was a machinist for Naval Avionics for many years, retiring in 1977. He was a member of Brookside Masonic Lodge #720 F. & A.M., the Murat Shrine and the Scottish Rite.
Bob is survived by his devoted son, Robert H. (Beverly) Hunt and grandchildren, Elizabeth A. S. (Daniel) McMillan, Evan R., Elliott T. and Emery H. M. Hunt.
Two brothers; and three sisters preceded Bob in death.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the time of service at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2013, at Shirley Brothers Washington Memorial Chapel, 9606 E. Washington St., Indianapolis.
