David L. Apple

David L. Apple, 72, of Pewaukee, Wisc. and formerly of Greenfield, passed away at his home on Nov. 13, 2013. He was born on Sept. 15, 1941, in Greenfield, as the son of Harold and Margaret (Cooney) Apple.

Mr. Apple graduated from Purdue University in 1964, with a Master’s Degree in Agricultural Engineering. He married his beloved wife, Lois (Carmichael) Apple on Jan. 20, 1963, in Greenfield.

David worked for John Deere and Brunswick companies in the Wisconsin and Michigan area, for over 40 years, before retiring in 2002. Mr. Apple was involved with United Methodist and Presbyterian Congregations, a member of the American Society of Agricultural Engineers, and Rotary International.  He loved his family and working on his farm.

David is survived by his wife, Lois, of Pewaukee, Wisc.; children, Ellen (Christopher) Dean, of Glenview, Ill. and Brian (Beth) Apple of Beaver Dam, Wisc.; sister, Sarah Richardson of Greenfield; half sister, Betty (Harlan) Epperson of Hardinsburg, Ind.; stepbrothers, Raymond (Pat) Gant of Greenfield and Charles (An) Gant of Anderson; four grandchildren, Emma and Lauren Dean, Jocelyn and Quinn Apple.

He is preceded in death by his parents; stepmother, Maxine Richwine; and a sister, Jane Andis.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 16, 2013, at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory in Greenfield with visitation from Noon to 3 p.m. prior to the service. Interment will be held at a later date at Park Cemetery in Greenfield.
