Opal H. Turner, 88, of New Palestine, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family on Nov. 1, 2013. Opal was born July 6, 1925, in Bernstadt, Ky.
Opal was a member of Greenfield Church of God for over 40 years. She retired from Western Electric after 26 years of service.
She is survived by her daughter, Jewel (Joe) Corley; 7 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren; and 2 sisters, Verda (Chester) Jones and Beulah (Jerry) Sizemore.
Opal is preceded in death by her husband, A.J. Turner; parents, George and Bertha (Whitson) Hubbard; and 3 sons Robert, Eugene and Larry Turner.
Family and friends will gather Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2013, 4-6 p.m at Flanner and Buchanan – Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington St., Indianapolis, Ind.; followed by a service at 6 p.m. Memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 50 E. 91st Street, Suite 100 Indianapolis, Ind.
