George A. Parker, 86, Arcadia, formerly of Rockville, passed away Thursday, October 24, 2013. He was born on Aug. 4, 1927, in Hamilton County, Ind., to John and Eula (Rinker) Parker.

He is survived by his wife, Alberta Jane (Herron) Parker; four sons, Mike (Shari) Tapscott of Decatur, Ill., Ken (Chana) Tapscott of Fortville, Tom Parker of Arcadia, and Chris Parker (fiancee, Teresa) of Anderson; three daughters, Jane Vestal of Arcadia, Judy Brown-Anderson of Fishers and Mary (Bill) Hammond of Anderson; 15 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and his beloved dog.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four sisters, Margaret Presser, Kathryn Sharkey, Mary Harrison, and Lois Fulp; two brothers, Howard and Lowell Parker; and two sons-in-law.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 28, 2013, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2013, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel with Pastor Jim Dillinger officiating.  Burial will follow in Perkinsville Cemetery, Anderson.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital or the Hamilton County Humane Society.
