Lois R. Harlan

Lois R. Harlan, 101, of Greenfield, formerly of Wilkinson, passed away Wednesday morning, Oct. 23, 2013, at the Ellison House in Greenfield.

She was born Sept. 24, 1912, in Kennard, the daughter of the late Frank Lail and Phoeba Gertrude (Crawley) Redick.

Lois was a secretary for the assistant governor of Indiana in the 1930s and was a wonderful mother and homemaker. She was a member of the Wilkinson Church of Christ where she also served as secretary for many years. She proudly received a 75 year Diamond membership with the Eastern Star # 492 of Shirley.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Howard C. Harlan; and son, Robert H. Harlan II.

Survivors include her son, William L. (Mary) Harlan of Annapolis, Md.; daughter, Mickey (late husband Walter) Chase of Irvine Calif.; five grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 – 6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 27, 2013, with an Eastern Star service at 5:30. at Condo and Son Funeral Home in Wilkinson. The Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 28, 2013, at Wilkinson Church of Christ in Wilkinson, with Ryan McCarty and Russ Lutes officiating. Burial will follow at Harlan Cemetery in Wilkinson.
