Joyce M. (Haskell) Mattingly, 79, of Greenwood, passed away Saturday, Oct. 19, 2013, at Community South Hospital. She was born on Sept. 26, 1934, in Morgantown, as the daughter of Edward and Pearl Mae (Jacobs) Slinger.

She married James R. Mattingly on Sept. 10, 1952. Joyce worked for Mattingly Shell as a bookkeeper for over 30 years. She enjoyed reading, cross stitching, and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her children, Pam (Marvin) Guffin of New Palestine, Penny Ann Vinson of Franklin, Cindy (Scott) Splichal of Indianapolis, Patrick Mattingly of Indianapolis, and Christine Vinson of Jacksonville, Fla.; brother, James (Barbara) Haskell of Welaka, Fla.; sister, Delores (Richard) Williams of Oaklandon; nine grandchildren, Amy Capozzi, Josh Guffin, Derek Guffin, Ryan Splichal, Krystal Baker, Eric Splichal, J.P. Mattingly, Brody and Jordan Vinson; and five great-grandchildren, Bri-Anna, Hallie, Alayna, Devon, and Layla.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Mattingly; parents, Edward and Pearl Mae Slinger; brother, Joseph Haskell; and sisters, Louise List and Margie Haskell.

Celebration of Life gathering will be from 5 – 7p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2013, at Erlewein Mortuary and Crematory in Greenfield.
