Dolores L. Rowell, 84, of Greenfield went to be with the Lord on Sunday, Oct. 6, 2013, at Hancock Regional Hospital Hospice. She was born March 18, 1929, in Sorento, Ill., the daughter of the late Rev. Francis R. and Grace C. (Brown) Pope.

Dolores graduated from Pittsfield, Ill., High School in 1947 and then attended the Great Lakes Bible Institute in Zion, Ill. Dolores loved to read her Bible and learn scriptures. She retired from E.H. Hamilton Trucking in Indianapolis, where she was an office clerk. After retiring, she was a caring and loving home health caregiver for several years. She was a wonderful loving and caring wife, mother and grandma and will be greatly missed by all. She has touched many lives.

Surviving relatives include her husband of 61 years, whom she married on Sept. 13, 1952, Rev. James F. Rowell of Greenfield; daughter, Renee L. Malone of Michigan City, Ind.; three grandchildren, James Craig Malone and Rebecca Louise Malone, both of Michigan City, Ind., and Nathan Andrew Malone of Indianapolis; and brother, Francis Darrell (Linda) Pope of Lawton, Okla.

Dolores was preceded in death by her parents; infant son; stillborn daughter; and sister, Glendean Rousan.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2013, at the Stillinger Family Funeral Home Pasco Chapel, 1780 W. Main St., Greenfield, IN 46140. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 10, 2013, at the funeral home, with burial to follow at Park Cemetery. Officiating the service will be the Rev. Gerald DeVore and Rev. Johnny Garrison.
