Robert "Bob"  W. Clayton

Robert "Bob"  W. Clayton, 48, of Shelbyville, passed away on Sept. 28, 2013. He was born on Aug. 6, 1965, in Muncie, to Robert Earl Clayton and Patricia (Minor) Skaggs.

Bob married Sherry Lynn (Young) in 1985, who resides in Greenfield. He graduated from Indian Creek HS in 1983, and received his Associates Degree from Vincennes University in laser optics. Bob resided in Muncie for 44 years. Bob worked as the head of maintenance at the Hancock Co. Jail for 14 years and in the accounting dept. at Agri-Tronix, of Franklin, for 13 years. He was also a member of Fair Haven Christian Church, in Trafalgar.

Bob was an avid NASCAR fan, Dale Earnhardt Jr. being his favorite driver, he loved to talk politics, and was a staunch conservative, Ronald Reagan was his hero. Bob was a devoted father, son, brother and uncle.

He is survived by his son, Robert Allan "Bobby" Clayton of Greenfield; his daughter, Rebecca Meredith Clayton of Greenfield; his mother, Patricia Skaggs of Shelbyville; brother, Todd (Andrea) Clayton of St. Paul, and sister, Sherry M. Halverson, of Illinois.

Bob is preceded in death by his father and stepfather, James Skaggs.

Visitation will be from 4- 8 p.m. on Wednesday Oct. 2, 2013, at Glenn E. George & Son Funeral Home. Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 3, 2013, at the funeral home, with Pastor Stanley Icenogle officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin.
