Daniel E. “Dan” Chopp
Daniel E. “Dan” Chopp, 50, of Indianapolis, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, Sept. 15, 2013, at Community Hospital North. He was born Nov. 6, 1962, in Indianapolis, the son of Ed and Elly (Dost) Chopp.
He graduated from Franklin Central High School in 1980, then received his Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice and Criminal Law from Ball State University in 1983. Dan married Neda Anne (Andjelkovic) Chopp in Indianapolis.
He worked for Partners Rx as the Regional Vice President of Sales and was also the owner of High Tech Motorsports in New Palestine. Dan was a member of the Big Brother Association, Indiana B.A.S.S. Chapter Federation, Indiana Angler’s Choice, Indianapolis Angler’s Choice, Indiana Hoosier Open, and helped with the Amercian Cancer Society. In his free time, he loved fishing, especially for bass, and participating in fishing tournaments. He enjoyed high performance sports cars and was an avid Indianapolis Colts fan.
He is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Neda Chopp; parents, Ed and Elly Chopp of New Palestine; brother, Dane (Michelle) Chopp of N. C.; and two nieces and one nephew, Payton, Jaxson and Sydney.
Dan was preceded in death by his grandparents, Gesina Llewellyn, Nicholas Dost, Edward and Lillian Chopp.
Visitation will be from 12 – 4 p.m. Sunday, September 22, 2013, with the funeral service immediately following at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory in Greenfield. Pastor Mark Havel will be officiating.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, 10401 N. Meridian St., Indianapolis, IN 46290.
