Vera Mae (Milner) Kaufman
Vera Mae (Milner) Kaufman, 92, a resident of Shirley, passed away Sunday evening, Sept. 15, 2013, at Hancock Regional Hospital in Greenfield. She was born May 7, 1921, the daughter of the late Avery Vere and Ora Mae (Estell) Milner
She was married to Ralph Kaufman, on Christmas day 1939.
Vera Mae worked at the Citizens State Bank of Shirley, which became the Bank of Henry County. She retired from the Bank of Henry County in 1981, after serving the banks in Kennard and Shirley.
Survivors include two sons, Jerry Kaufman of Shirley and Kenneth Kaufman (Katrina) of Pittsboro; son-in-law, Vaughn Sutton (Lynda) of Shirley; two granddaughters, Heather (Mark) Urschel of Indianapolis and Juli (Michael) Carter of Carmel; two grandsons, Jason Sutton of Kennard and Aaron (Kira) Sutton of Rushville; nine great-grandchildren, Ben and Sophie Urschel of Indianapolis, Alexis and Eli Carter of Carmel, Eva and Isaac Sutton of Rushville, and Ashley, Jacob and Jayden Sutton of Indianapolis; sister, Glenda Conley of New Castle; brother, Dale Milner of Walton, Ind.; sister-in-law, Dorothy Kaufman; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Ralph in 1995; daughter, Sherida Sutton in 2011; sister, Kathleen Smith in 1973; and brother, Kenneth Paul Milner in 1920.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 19, 2013, with the funeral service immediately following at 12 p.m. at Condo and Son Funeral Home in Wilkinson, with Rev. Jenny Charles officiating. Burial will follow at McCray Cemetery in Wilkinson.
