Frank D. Shutt

Frank D. Shutt, 81, a long time Carthage resident, passed away Sunday, Sept. 8, 2013, in Indianapolis. Frank was born in Lawrence Co, Ill. on June 1, 1932, to the late Russell and Maude (Mann) Shutt.

He lived his early life in Carthage, and was a graduate of Carthage High School. Frank was a lifetime member of the Knightstown American Legion, as well as a member of the East St. Christian Church of Carthage, Ind. He married Georgia Shutt in October of 1961.

Frank will be greatly missed by three daughters, Karen (Walter) Harper, Diana Edington and Bobbi Overton, all of Georgia; one brother, Russell Shutt Jr.; three sisters, Betty Kelley, Rose Miller and Mary Carpenter; four grandchildren, Joseph (Lisa) Morrow, Elvis Morrow, Tim Edington and Kyle (Hillary) Edington; and five great-granddaughters.

In addition to his parents, Frank was preceded in death by his wife, Georgia Shutt; and a sister, Helen Houchins.

Friends are welcome to visit from 1-3 p.m. Thursday afternoon, Sept. 12, 2013, with funeral services immediately following at 3 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Care, Knightstown. Burial will be in the Asbury Cemetery in Morristown, with Chaplain Wells presiding.
